Hornbill - (round pendant)

from $99.00

Penh Lenh + Tamara Venn is a fusion of jewelry and art. This collection combines the quality craftsmanship of Penh Lenh jewels with the visionary artistry of Tamara Venn.

Each exclusive piece comes with a limited edition 20x14cm print entitled ‘Phnom Penh Living’ from Tamara Venn.

  • 14k gold-filled material - 10.5mm round pendant on small chain

Note from Tamara: I’ve painted more Hornbills than any other animal. The enormous, dinosaur-like birds you see flying over the rooftops of Phnom Penh are called Hornbills. A native, old-world bird that thrives in both the cities and the jungles of Cambodia. They are listed as vulnerable in the IUCN red list due to deforestation. Habitat destruction must stop if we want to continue seeing these incredible birds everyday.

A little love fact – hornbill couples mate for life and can remain together for up to 40 years.

Tamara Venn is originally from London and studied at Central St Martin’s College of Art & Design. Her work can be seen around Cambodia and the UK. The brilliance and fragility of nature in an increasingly developed environment is the subject that runs throughout her work. Each work celebrates the beauty of the natural world as illustrated by her mission statement, “If we take care of the natural world now, we will not be left with only painted reminders of what was once here.”
